The Tidewater drillers
The Tidewater Drillers Organization was founded in 1994 by Gary Wright and Matt Sinnen. They set out to create an environment for young men to not only play the game of baseball at a high level, but to help mold these young men into good athletes, great students, and outstanding members of their community.
Since the inception of the Tidewater Drillers brand, the organization has added fastpitch softball programs to its long tenured repertoire of elite performance. Through baseball and softball, community events, and fundraising for charities, the Tidewater Drillers vision is to not only teach boys and girls how to play the game the right way, but to treat everyone with respect on and off the field.
The Tidewater Drillers organization has produced numerous national championships, division one, and professional ballplayers. Most importantly, Drillers coaches have developed hundreds of successful young men and women by requiring educational and social standards. All Drillers players must maintain a minimum of 2.5 grade point average.
The Drillers start at 9u and continue through 18u teams. Most teams are composed of boys and girls from the Tidewater area (Southeastern Virginia). The strong tradition of success continues due to the amazing coaching experience of Drillers coaches. Having major league stars such as Ryan Zimmerman of the Washington Nationals, Mark Reynolds of the Cleveland Indians, and Chris Taylor of the Los Angeles Dodgers shows how strong the Drillers organization has become over the last two decades.
To this day, the Tidewater Drillers mission remains the same;
Produce quality young men and women on and off the diamond.
